Shirley Temple excelled at dancing and was often given roles that required extensive choreography experience, but she was up for the task. With the help of an African-American dance coach, which was controversial at the time, Shirley Temple was able to learn very complex dance steps and sing at the same time. Shirley Temple starred in a number of films as a child including: Dimples, Curly Top, Our Little Girl, Wee Willie Winkie, Heidi, The Little Princess and Poor Little Rich Girl to name just a few. In total she starred in over 60 films.

One of the most popular antique Shirley Temple toys include dolls fashioned after the iconic child star. Over the past 70+ years since Shirley Temple made her debut dolls have been produced to capture the cute dimples and curly hair of this young star. Other toys popular among children during the 1930's include Shirley Temple dishes, plates and cups.
